The opportunity

The Digital and Technology service is key in delivering on this vision, with a growing team spanning across all areas of the University’s digital portfolio. The department is actively engaged in an exciting journey, transitioning from a ‘classic’ IT model to a product-structured, user-centric approach to technology. We are investing in our people, and the processes enabled by digital, to evolve and transform the student and staff experience at UAL.

As a Senior Business Analyst (SBA), you will have extensive experience across large scale, complex environments. You will play a key role, alongside other SBAs to lead our BA Community of Practice, and the day-to-day management of a group of Business Analysts within our portfolio, sharing knowledge and driving continuous improvement.

You will get the opportunity to work with stakeholders across the university to understand their existing and future business requirements, to review services and processes to identify where Digital and Technology can continue to add value. You will place the user at the centre of our design process and propose new solutions that can adapt and scale as user and university needs evolve.

Working across the full product lifecycle, you will be involved in discovery, requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, transition activities and support. You will play a pivotal role in the successful embedding of change within the organisation whilst encouraging and promoting best practice across the portfolio and analysis team.

About you

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Business Analyst across a large complex environment, able to influence and challenge change.
  • Experience of working across – Agile including Scrum, and Waterfall environments.
  • A track record of leading/mentoring and motivating teams directly and via matrix management. With experience of managing multiple resources.
  • Excellent communication skills, and extensive experience of working with a diverse range of stakeholders, creating meaningful partnerships.
  • You will have experience of effectively communicating complex and/or technical information to a diverse audience, leading to productive and trusted ‘partnership’ working relationships across the University.
  • ISEB Business Analysis or equivalent qualification are desirable but not essential.
