The opportunity

Are you passionate about planning and supporting UX research projects and initiatives to help create the best digital experience possible for UAL’s key audiences? If so, join our team at the University of the Arts London (UAL) as a Junior User Experience (UX) Researcher.

We are looking for an exceptional professional to join our dynamic central team, working closely with our colleges, students, and key university services as well as external contacts.

As Junior UX Researcher you’ll use your knowledge of research methods and tools to support our team in creating consistent insight-driven experiences that engage our users.

As part of the Digital & Technology Group, you will work in partnership with UX designers, content designers, and developers in the Digital Channels Team. You’ll help to deliver an excellent inclusive and accessible user experience across UAL’s core digital channels. Our channels include the UAL website, Portfolio, Graduate Showcase, and the staff digital workspace.

About you

You will be an organised self-starter, enthusiastic, and hard-working individual and team player, with a degree or equivalent level of relevant UX research experience.

You will be able to focus on user problems based on evidence from user research, analytics, user testing, and usability analysis; and work with team members to inform user needs and design creative solutions.

An excellent communicator – you will need to be able to present your findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders.

You’ll be passionate about user experience and putting them at the heart of our digital delivery.

Previous experience working in a university would be an advantage but is not essential for the right candidate.

In return, UAL offers generous leave, an attractive salary and pension plus a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity, and diversity. Relocation assistance is available.

Please apply early as should sufficient applications be received the vacancy closing date may be held earlier.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Zele Akhilele, Resourcing Adviser via email on digitalandtechnologystaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk
