The opportunity

Provide specialist support with the deployment, management, maintenance, development, capacity management, and security assurance of the VMware vSphere/Cloud/VMware ARIA/VDI Infrastructure/NSX-T/VMware Tanzu through Kubernetes infrastructure as a member of the Infrastructure Services team within the Digital and Technology department.


Participate in internal and external networks to ensure the successful integration and delivery of IT services across the University. Maintain an awareness of developing applications and technologies, evaluating the impact on existing systems architecture, and the development of areas of specialisation.

About you

Degree/Equivalent experience


Experience in Education Sector

Any Public Sector

Industry certifications


and VMware VCP or any equivalent

Certified Kubernetes Administrator-CKA

Certified Kubernetes Application Developer-CKAD


Minimum 5 years on any Hypervisor and Enterprise level design experience and excellent hands-on working knowledge of Linux platform

 Or working experience of VMware vSphere




Minimum of two years’ experience

VMware Tanzu Grid platforms

Enterprise-level design experience and implementation of any K8’s

Hands on experience


API’s, Micro Services and Container Clusters

Knowledge of REST API

Working experience with RESTful API

Automation Tools






CI/CD Tools- Jenkins


VMware Aria Automation








Version Control




Cloud Platform

Day-to-day operations of any private cloud platform including Prod/Test/Dev environments





Network and Security

Strong evidence of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues/problems within an operational environment

TCP/IP,  applying security rules on Distributed firewalls in any Hypervisor platforms

Knowledge and great level of understanding of Software Defined Network




VXLAN, Overlay networks, Routing, Switching, Virtual Load balancers

NSX-T and NSX (latest)






Gateways, IDS, IPS




Monitoring Solutions

vRealize Operations/ Aria Operations or any other equivalent solutions

vRealize Network Insight and Log Insight






Communication Skills

Communicates effectively orally, in writing and/or using visual media.




Leadership and Management

Provide technical leadership and will be involved in mentoring and training colleagues in areas of expertise.
