The opportunity
Applicants must provide a link to an online portfolio of work as part of the application process. Join a multi-disciplinary team of Specialist Technicians supporting students in developing their skills in VR, AR, and /or 3D Games. The Creative Technology Lab is a purpose-built space at the London College of Communication where students can access staff expertise and the latest specialist equipment. Our team specialises in supporting emerging technologies, including physical computing, creative coding, machine learning, VR and AR. Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you will help students research, iterate, and realise their projects from conception to installation/publication. You will develop and deliver structured workshops in either Unity or Unreal Engine, as well as providing project-led one-to-one support to students either just starting their journey in developing interactive projects or looking for support with advanced concepts and workflows.
About you
You will have a relevant qualification and/or 1+ years of experience in a relevant industry, and strong knowledge of XR development technologies, processes and techniques demonstrated in your existing portfolio of work. You will have experience in either teaching, tutoring, mentoring or demonstration/presentation. Knowledge of related areas such as Photogrammetry, 360 video post-production, Motion Capture, Mobile app development is desirable but not essential.
You will be capable of working with technicians and academics in the college to develop and deliver innovative, inclusive teaching to support students of all skill levels and abilities. You will be comfortable researching and experimenting with new technologies, and willing to develop competencies in areas outside of your core expertise with appropriate support. You will be a creative and motivated individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team.
