The opportunity

The School of Performance at Wimbledon College of Arts, UAL, provides a single campus experience where Acting and Performance and Performance Design and Technologies are delivered together. With live performance as its primary focus, the school provides a collaborative and technically rich environment where ‘performance’ can be fully explored. Following a multi million-pound investment programme, Wimbledon is now progressing with its ambition to become a world leading centre for performance.

To fully activate our new studio spaces, we are expanding our staff team. We are investing a department of specialist technicians, capable of growing our performance and design portfolio and contributing towards raising our global profile as a ‘centre for performance’.

The technical team within the Performance Design and technologies Programme support the technical design & making aspects of the course delivery. Working closely with the studio managers and course leaders, the technical processes are planned in line with the curriculum and then delivered to the student groups. Aspects of making will vary from small scale models to 1:1 set design/building, using a range traditional and digital technologies. Technicians are encouraged to explore new techniques and emerging technologies that can be applied within theatre and performance design.

About you
