The opportunity

We are looking to recruit an established leader in digital media production for social media and web-based content creation, responsible for creative pedagogic leadership including an innovative approach to integrating theory and practice in communications and media. You will join our team of academics, creatives and practitioners working in the Communications and Media programme at London College of Communication.  The programme consists of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Advertising, Media Communications, Contemporary Media Cultures, and Public Relations. You will work collaboratively with course teams, deploying specialist expertise to develop curriculum and practice in innovative and critical directions. We have a commitment to building our creative capacity in digital media and your role will be pivotal in helping us to achieve this.

You will have specific focus on digital media production, innovative content creation, and sklls creative pedagogy.  Current specialisms may include but are not limited to: digital and multi-media production, content creation for web and social media, transmedia and multi-platform storytelling, storyboarding, immersive media technologies, moving image production and their critical contexts. The role requires expertise in these areas and industry and/or professional expertise including partnership building, collaborative work and/or mentoring are desirable.

You will proactively contribute to pedagogic leadership and curriculum development that stimulate thought and practice and promote diversity and inclusivity.  

You will have substantial teaching experience in Higher Education and have a proven track record of delivering high quality student experience, including through curriculum delivery, development and assessment. 

About you

You will bring an advanced knowledge of your subject area and be able to apply this to broader processes of change and future directions, through innovative pedagogy, knowledge exchange and/or research. You will hold a qualification in a relevant discipline at least to postgraduate level or have a substantial track record in industry alongside experience of teaching in HE. You will have a strong commitment to the advancement of your field through research or knowledge exchange and be able to identify potential sources of funding and industry engagement.
