The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting the development of the new UAL Doctoral School, providing administrative support for the University’s doctoral programmes.

Based at our High Holborn site the Doctoral School will provide a dedicated space for cross-University Post Graduate Research activities.

As the Senior Administrator Post Graduate Research, you will contribute to the overall effective service delivery of the Postgraduate Research (PGR) Section. You will provide information, advice, and guidance to Postgraduate researchers, academic staff and administrative colleagues regarding all PGR processes and identify and suggest continuous improvements to processes, systems, and communications, as necessary.

You will develop extensive and close working relationships with relevant University staff and appropriate external stakeholders working collaboratively to support the development of the service  and effective operating models for PGR across UAL.

About you

You will have demonstrable experience of working in Higher Education (HE) or similar administration in a large and complex organisation, coupled with ability and experience of working independently. Considerable experience of delivering an administrative service and of effective use of student (or similar) records systems / databases. You will have experience working across multiple teams, coordinating activities and liaising with staff across a large organisation and dealing with difficult situations or confidential matters according to policy and procedures, referring to others as required. Crucially, you are a naturally collaborative, supportive and customer-focused individual, with strong communication skills both in person and in writing.

Candidates are advised to submit applications early to avoid disappointment as we reserve the right to close vacancies prior to the advertised closing date.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Twinkle Brahmbhatt, Senior Resourcing Adviser via email at RKEEstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk.
