The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Reader, a research-active academic, to shape research leadership and contribute to the teaching and learning excellence of the Fashion Business School at the London College of Fashion.

About you

You will have an active research profile in business research with impact relevant to the fashion and lifestyle industries.  While all business disciplines are welcome to apply, we have particular interest in the following areas which are best aligned to our research themes of people, planet, profit and purpose:
–    Marketing, retail and consumer research,
–    Digital futures, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in business and retail,
–    Entrepreneurship, leadership and small enterprise management, and
–    Business model innovation and circular economy

You will have a proven track record of outstanding research, as evidenced by your internationally recognised scholarship and publication. You will have led on externally funded research or knowledge exchange projects; collaborating with national and international partners in academia and industry to develop external funding applications to research councils, charitable trusts and other relevant agencies. 

You will demonstrate the ability to lead and mentor research with significant experience of academic leadership. You will have the ability to inspire trust and the confidence to develop and implement strategy in a complex environment.  

You will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching, research and REF profile of the College and provide ongoing leadership of your discipline. Your duties will also include the supervision and mentoring of research degree students as appropriate. Through your collaborative research and involvement with relevant professional bodies you will engender positive relationships with staff across the College and University.
