The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to join our growing Technical Services team as a Print & Finishing Support Technician at London College of Communication.

The Print & Finishing workshops support a broad range of techniques including; Print Finishing & Binding, Risograph, Offset Litho, Inkjet & Digital Printing, as well as consultations across all areas.

Reporting to the Print & Finishing Technical Coordinator, you will join a dynamic team of highly skilled technicians with a broad range of skills and experience. You will supervise the workshops and provide advice and training to students in all Print & Finishing techniques.You will ensure the safe use of equipment such as guillotines, folders, binding machinery and printing presses.

We strive to make our workshops as inclusive and accessible as possible. They are spaces where every student feels welcome and supported, whether they are new to a discipline, want to learn new skills or they are looking for support and advice with advanced techniques and practices.

About you

You will have a relevant degree, equivalent qualification, or substantial experience of working with Print & Finishing processes. The role will be based predominantly within Print Finishing, however a good experience of Risograph printing and working knowledge of Litho, Inkjet & Digital Printing is required. You will have an understanding of all aspects of Print Finishing and how they relate to the methodology of the printing processes.
