The opportunity

UAL is looking for an Organisational Development (OD) Manager to join the diverse and talented People Strategy hub team within HR. This is an exciting time to be joining UAL; we have a new University Strategy, and the new People Strategy will be launched imminently. Inclusion, Social Purpose, Engagement are all core UAL priorities and the OD team will be focused on these areas to impact on staff and student experience. 

The post holder has dual responsibility to provide OD consultancy in their area of specialism and lead responsibility for the design, delivery, management and evaluation of initiatives that underpin organisational change.

They will work closely with People Strategy Hub Heads, Organisational Development (OD), Staff Development (SD), Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and their managers to provide a cohesive People Strategy Hub service.

About you

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • To support the People Strategy leadership team in the delivery of OD projects that support People Strategy priorities
  • To act in a senior consultancy role providing support and information across UAL on agreed People Strategy OD priorities.
  • To lead the design, delivery, communication and evaluation of UAL change programmes in support of agreed People Strategy priorities
  • To coach and develop colleagues to initiate effective solutions and lead project teams to implement relevant OD solutions
  • To deliver training and development including 1:1s, briefings and workshops as required by People Strategy priorities
  • To ensure that project action plans are developed and maintained to inform OD individual objectives and are considered as part of an overall programme of HR work for UAL
  • To build collaborative relationships with internal and external providers and partners; creating opportunities to work together, bring knowledge into the organisation and delivering value for money.

 About you

With proven experience as OD consultant, preferably in a large complex organisation, you will work strategically and operationally, to deliver high quality OD interventions in the areas of engagement, wellbeing, change management and learning programme delivery. 

You will be a strong communicator, able to work collaboratively and inclusively to deliver large scale behavioural and culture change programmes and associated briefings, policy development and communications.  Always taking a problem solving approach and planning and managing resources for effective project delivery.

Demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to coach and influence stakeholders across UAL, you will be able to deliver innovative solutions by facilitating creativity in others and introducing new ideas and applying relevant professional approaches.
