The opportunity

Assisting in the delivery of high quality, customer-focused library and open access IT services at University of the Arts London (UAL), which support the teaching, learning and research activities of its Colleges. You will participate in the acquisition, cataloguing and management of print and electronic library materials. You will assist colleagues in our colleges by answering queries relating to resources and you may be involved in projects as required.

Please note: the work for this role is on-site in our office at London College of Communication, in Elephant & Castle.  There may be the occasional opportunity to work off-site, at the line manager’s discretion.

About you

With formal training or education to post-16 level and relevant experience in a library, open access IT or customer service environment, you will be able to work independently and have basic numeracy skills or experience of financial procedures.

You are able to ensure that accurate information is passed onto the most appropriate people in a timely fashion and have experience of answering standard, predictable questions/queries from staff and students.

You will have experience of working as a member of a team, providing support, assistance and cover where needed and will have experience of using various modes of communication in a work environment.

Experience of having prepared and delivered training or team briefings is desirable.
