The opportunity

The area of analytics and data science at the Fashion Business School is situated within our specialist fashion education offer and related research. The lecturer in analytics and data science will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship in this important growth area in the Fashion Business School and the London College of Fashion. The post-holder will work collaboratively within a course team and beyond, deploying specialist expertise, to develop online and on-campus pedagogy and curriculum in innovative and critical directions. Involvement in research and industry projects is also an important part of this role. 

About you

A Masters qualification (or higher) in a related analytics and/data science discipline is essential, with active research interests in a quantitative discipline (e.g., AI, Machine Learning, Time Series Analysis & Forecasting, Statistics, Data Mining, or Econometrics). Experience working with programming languages and business intelligence tools such as R studio, SPSS, Power BI / Tableau is essential, Python and SQL is highly desirable. You will also have a strong interest in applying your analytical and data science expertise and research to the fashion arena and related fields and be prepared to work collaboratively in cross disciplinary teams. 

Experience in teaching and assessment in a higher education environment with evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice within data and analytics discipline are essential. A teaching qualification (or the willingness to obtain one), and a professional qualification in data analytics, forecasting, big data, management, or marketing  are desirable as well as  teaching or industry experience within a fashion context.
