The Head of Strategic Projects and Operations will play a key leadership role in building the new cross Research, Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise (RKEE) project and operational support department.

The role will sit on the RKEE Senior Leadership Team (SLT), working alongside the DVC and Directors, with specific responsibility for and oversight of the strategic projects and centralised operational delivery for RKEE.

UAL has an ambitious strategy to grow our Research, Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise activity, and this role will be key to supporting this success by developing a team who will support varied projects to drive growth across the department, in line with the UAL strategy, RKEE strategy, and agreed business plans.

This is a role for an experienced programme manager or similar, able to simultaneously manage important operational delivery with long term strategic projects.

About you

Our staff come from a diverse range of professional backgrounds both within Higher Education and further afield. We value the experience they bring with them.

You will be an experienced programme manager who motivates and leads effectively, setting the direction of your team and service, to enable and promote collaboration and innovative problem solving across formal boundaries. You will have experience of building effective, service focussed teams, and will promote and enable an inclusive environment; and will apply these principles to the development of the service.

You will have experience of delivering successful strategic and operational management, and experience navigating and delivering change, in a complex organisational environment with multiple stakeholders.

You will bring an in depth knowledge of project, programme and change management, and business planning and business processes.

This role is based within the Research, Knowledge Exchange & Enterprise division, working across university, and will require strong communication, relationship building and networking skills.
