The opportunity
Writing for Change is a new and ambitious online postgraduate course that seeks to place social justice at the heart of creative practice and proposes writing as a powerful tool for making change in communities, professional fields, and within broader social contexts. Based in the Culture and Enterprise Programme at Central Saint Martins, this is a course that explores writing as multiple; as a form of collaboration and cooperation, and means to engage with, critique and challenge power. We are looking for a Course Leader to lead the delivery of PG Cert Writing for Change and to lead the transition to and development of MA Writing for Change for delivery in 2024/25. You will join a team including learning designers, tutors and practitioners to develop and deliver t PG Cert/MA Writing for Change, and will lead on course management, teaching delivery, managing resources, curriculum development, as preparing for and delivering structured learning experiences as well as facilitating, supporting and sustaining inclusive course cultures and community.
About you
You will bring experience of teaching and facilitating creative practices relating to writing and change making and, as he PGCert/MA Writing for Change is a fully online course, and you will have experience of designing inclusive and synchronous and asynchronous learning materials and learning experiences.
An effective communicator, you will have understanding and experience in leading and motivating teams, and managing resources and people.
Creative and highly motivated, you will be comfortable working collaboratively, bringing ideas and approaches to teaching and learning to support excellent pedagogy for a diverse student cohort.
You will be committed to the development of writing practices in response and relation to current challenges, issues and debates regarding racial justice, climate emergency and the post pandemic context and alive to their implications for what and how MA Writing for Change evolves and responds to emerging concerns and contexts.
