The opportunity

Your main responsibility will be preparation, teaching, administration and assessment of a unit or part of a unit. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.

You will work closely with other academic staff, including the Programme Director and Course Leader.

About you

We are looking for Associate Lecturers to teach design methods and UX principles for our MA User Experience Design. This is a practice-led course which seeks to develop and foster critical creative practice in the field of UX Design, a rapid growing and changing design discipline. The course is structured around a series of industry collaborations, part of your job will be to contribute to relationship management and ensure an enriching and rewarding student experience.

Ideal candidates will have worked or are currently working in user centred design, interaction design, or user experience design and related creative industries. You should be a specialist practitioner and/or researcher who is keen to use your academic and/or industry-based experience to support the development of student work on the MA User Experience Design. You should have a strong understanding of the contemporary context of user experience design in an academic and/or professional setting, and be engaged in relevant networks and communities of practice within this and/or related fields. The role requires seminar teaching and delivery of technical workshops, and also the marking and assessing of coursework.

Experience of working with HE students and enhancing the student experience is highly desirable. Ideal candidates will be familiar with debates relating to decolonising design. You should be able to demonstrate that you are comfortable working with diverse groups, and can work effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people.
