The opportunity

This post sits in the management team for CCW libraries and contributes to the development, organisation and delivery of high quality student-focused services within the Camberwell Library and Learning Zone.

The post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient day-to-day management and service delivery of the Library and Learning Zone, including the management of staff. The post holder will often be the senior manager onsite, and also provide remote management for other CCW teams, deputising for the Learning Resources Manager as appropriate. The position will have line management responsibilities for a range of staff including librarians.

This post supports learning, teaching and research activities by providing effective digital and learning support, promoting and enabling access to resources, collections and services. You will also contribute to the cross site group responsible for developing digitally enhanced learning spaces, digital pedagogies and experimenting with cutting-edge digital tools.

About you

We are looking for someone with experience of managing staff, spaces and services in a library and open access IT or equivalent environment. With a proven commitment to excellent customer service, you will be able to lead and motivate a team, and work collaboratively with colleagues across departments. You will be self-motivated and able to suggest creative solutions to new or existing problems.

You will have knowledge of developments in library, IT and educational technology, ideally in the context of Higher or Further Education. You will have experience of contributing to the development of facilities and learning support activities.

You will have an understanding of the operations of library and open access IT and digital learning spaces and/or makerspace facilities, as well as knowledge of digital learning and library technologies.

You will have experience of software packages and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, and relevant assistive technologies and software.
