The opportunity

You will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and student-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.

You will contribute to a programme to catalogue UAL’s archives, museum and special collections, to make them discoverable and to support teaching, learning and research at UAL and beyond.  In particular, you will arrange, catalogue and promote the Wimbledon College of Art Archive, to international cataloguing standards, using Axiell CALM cataloguing software. You will also prepare a selection of items from the Archive for digitisation.

About you

You will have a postgraduate qualification in Archives and Records Management, or equivalent experience of archival arrangement and cataloguing, and demonstrable knowledge and experience of working to international standards in cataloguing and collections care.

In addition, you will be familiar with the Axiell CALM cataloguing software and have an interest in the development of art and design education.  Experience of preparing archival material for digitisation is desirable.

By creating realistic plans to achieve the agreed deadlines and objectives of the role, you will have experience of providing guidance to support the needs of diverse archive users. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as an understanding of the academic context of the University.

All our library service roles contribute to running our frontline service. This role offers some opportunities for working from home.

In return, University of the Arts London offers generous leave, an attractive salary and pension plus a commitment to your continuing personal development and training in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity and diversity.

If you need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact, Sahil Ibrahim, Resourcing Adviser via email at Educationstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk.
