The opportunity

You will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and customer-focused library services which support the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.

You will have functional responsibility for Collections at Camberwell Library, which includes overseeing local frontline services, and representing Camberwell Library at department-wide working groups. This functional role may rotate within the team in the future.

You will support specified courses/programmes of study, participating in course committees. You will establish constructive working relationships with course teams, and promote access to resources, collections and services through effective academic liaison and information dissemination.

You will assist in the provision of enquiry services and develop learning materials which encourage the use of resources and services.

You will line manage a small team and be responsible for providing professional leadership in your functional area. 

Working pattern for this post is currently Monday – Friday with one evening per week until 6.15pm.

About you

We are looking for someone with a degree qualification or equivalent. A recognised library qualification or qualification in other information disciplines is desirable e.g. CILIP accreditation, non academic library or archives experience, NVQ or apprenticeship, library or teaching post graduate cert/dip/MA/MSc. Relevant experience in library or other education or information roles is desirable.

You will have demonstrable experience of working in a library or customer service environment and the ability to motivate a team and to work independently without direct supervision. You will also have excellent written and oral communication skills and be proficient in IT.
