The opportunity

As UAL responds to a changing world, we have recently launched an ambitious new 10-year strategy. The University Central Planning Unit will play an important role in defining how we reach our strategic goals and monitoring our progress on this journey.

As a result, we are investing in our planning team and expanding our capacity to help us shape the provision UAL offers, whilst ensuring we are informing and monitoring outcomes. This provision of advice, insights and analysis will allow senior decision-makers to plan for growth and ensure we are offering a first-class experience to all our students.

Working closely with the Size & Shape Board, the UCPU team and key stakeholders from across the University, the Planning Analyst will support and co-ordinate student number and academic planning activities; utilising management information and data analysis to formulate business intelligence. This will include co-ordinating the use of our student number planning models, market intelligence reporting and resource planning activities, and as required, supporting the provision of related data dashboards. This post will deliver timely and accurate outputs in these areas, ensuring that results align with the strategic and operational needs of the University and its Colleges.

About you

You will be a motivated and enthusiastic professional, who is either looking to develop their experience or to take their next career step into an exciting new role.  A diligent self-starter, you will have excellent communication skills and will be effective in organising your workload to achieve objectives on time.

You will need to evidence an understanding of planning processes, including demonstrable experience of strategic planning processes and desk-based research to support and inform reporting activities in Higher Education. Additionally, you will exhibit a working knowledge of the data sources that can support market research and insight analysis in a Higher Education setting or a related field. Further knowledge of Alteryx or SQL would be desirable.
