The opportunity
We are seeking multiple lecturers in Games Studies, to teach on the BA Hons Games Design course across all 3 years.
Your main responsibilities will be working as part of the BA Games Design team including preparation, teaching, assessment, student support and administration of theoretical games studies across years 1, 2 & 3.
In year 1 the role typically involves teaching and supporting students in developing an understanding of how games design theory relates to practice as well as developing academic researching and writing skills. Year 2 focuses on widening the theoretical scope of students and preparation for writing a thesis proposal. In year 3 you will supervise a thesis group. You will work closely with other academic staff, including the course team, theory and practice and staff form the larger program group. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of learning and support our students receive in order to enable them to complete their studies successfully.

About you
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching theory ideally in Higher Education.
You will have a critical historical and theoretical knowledge of Games Design and its wider Games Studies as well as an understanding of Games and Play in the wider context of visual communications such as AR, VR, interactivity, animation and VFX.
You will have a knowledge and expertise in the global social, cultural, environmental, political and economic issues that are transforming Game Studies and Game Design practices and discourses.
You will take a dynamic and innovative approach to supporting excellent teaching, pedagogy and inclusivity.
PG Cert teaching qualification desirable or equivalent experience.
