The opportunity
As a leading provider of further education pre-degree qualifications, UAL Awarding Body is growing to meet the demand for our qualifications that inspire transformative education for young people.
UAL Awarding Body is an awarding organisation specialising in qualifications within the performing and creative arts. Reporting to the Head of Qualifications and Assessment, the Portfolio Engagement Manager will help us maintain and expand our world class range of creative qualifications, by ensuring that they continue to meet our regulatory, governmental, and funding obligations, whilst also meeting the expectations of our external stakeholders.
The Portfolio Engagement Manager is a new role and will be part of the Qualifications and Assessment team, who are responsible for designing and developing products and managing the product lifecycle. This role will contribute to the work of the team by taking a leading role in shaping our current and future product range. It will do this by creating capacity for partnership building and stakeholder management to support the wider work of team, ensuring that we have evidence of demand and stakeholder engagement for products we develop, and services we offer.
This role is an ideal opportunity to be part of a growing awarding organisation where the work is both stimulating and varied and makes a meaningful impact to the lives of young people and inspires educators who deliver our qualifications.
About you
The person who gets this role will need to be a skilled, confident and charismatic individual who is conversant in talking to stakeholders of all levels about new ideas, changes and challenges, and can synthesize thoughts and ideas and articulate them in writing clearly, logically and persuasively.
To excel in this role, you are likely to have a deep understanding of educational policy, including what is happening in the qualification landscape, as well as in the schools, FE and HE sectors. A good grasp of the creative sector is also ideal.
You will need to have extensive experience in outward facing roles, having a proven track record of establishing and maintaining long lasting beneficial relationships. Equally you will need to be highly organised, a skilled problem solver and able to focus on singular activities to completion.
Although not essential, the ability to use and set-up dashboards using PowerBI and SharePoint is advantageous. As is line management experience.
