The opportunity

As a leading provider of further education pre-degree qualifications, UAL Awarding Body is growing to meet the demand for our qualifications that inspire transformative education for young people. 

UAL Awarding Body is an awarding organisation specialising in qualifications within the performing and creative arts. The Assessment Officer is a new role and will be part of the Qualifications and Assessment team, who are responsible for designing and developing products and managing the product lifecycle. This role will contribute to the work of the team by supporting the assessment design capacity of the team and the qualification and assessment development process by ensuring the creation of valid, reliable, and manageable assessments. 

Reporting to the Assessment Design Manager, the Assessment Officer, will also support with the delivery and standard setting of live assessments as required. They will also project manage the process of gathering evidence to support the ongoing validation of our approach to assessment (including digital assessment). They will support and conduct research relevant to Assessment Design as required.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have must have good project management skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects and prioritise your own time. You will have excellent planning and organisation skills. You will pride yourself on delivering high-quality work with attention to detail in document production.  

Verbal and written skills are paramount, alongside the ability to work as part of a team made up of multiple stakeholders across different professional levels.  

You will a good knowledge of assessment design principles and practice with experience of developing or maintaining assessment materials and additional resources.
