The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Lecturer, Creative Robotics to play a vital role in teaching, curriculum development, and ongoing scholarship within the MSc Creative Robotics and the BSc Creative Robotics courses at the rapidly growing UAL Creative Computing Institute (CCI).If you are an interdisciplinary academic with skills in the Creative Robotics field, this role offers a fantastic platform to develop your career.
Working collaboratively with a dedicated course team, you will deploy your specialist expertise for pedagogic and curriculum development in innovative and critical directions, that stimulates thought and practice, that challenges the canon of Creative Robotics, with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusivity.You shall expand the capacity of the course design to meet the need to teach specialisms relevant to the mission of UAL Creative Computing Institute in areas related to Creative Robotics.
You will be responsible for providing pastoral support, monitoring student progress and attendance and maintaining records. You will significantly contribute to the quality of learning and student support to ensure successful completion of their studies, whilst providing a high-quality student experience. Your involvement will extend beyond the classroom as you engage in conferences, public exhibitions and other research and knowledge exchange activities to promote and develop the subject.

About you
You will possess a strong academic background, holding the relevant qualifications or equivalent relevant industry experience in fields associated with Creative Robotics. You shall hold significant knowledge of a specialism relevant to the mission of the Creative Computing Institute in the field of Creative Robotics. Previous teaching experience in Higher Education or a comparable context is required, along with knowledge of curriculum development and assessment. You shall hold the ability to apply an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching.
You will be comfortable working with diverse cohorts of students and will be committed to a teaching approach that understands the range of students’ experiences within a course. Furthermore, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing your discipline through demonstrating evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice relevant to the goals of the Programme, Institute and University. Active participation in relevant networks and communities of practice within your subject and/or related fields is essential, as you will build networks of subject peers, partnerships and collaborations. Your ability to plan, prioritise, and manage resources effectively will vitally contribute to your overall success in this role.
