The opportunity
London College of Communications is seeking a 3D Workshop Specialist Technician to join their highly skilled and inclusive 3D Workshop team. In this role, you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and support in both traditional and digital making. Your responsibilities will include supporting student learning, providing training and instruction, and maintaining the additive and subtractive manufacturing facilities. Additionally, you will collaborate with team members, contribute to the planning of exhibitions and events, and engage in continuous personal and professional development. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the student experience and create a safe and accessible environment within the 3D Workshops at LCC.
LCC is currently embarking on an exciting and ambitious project, to build a new building in Elephant & Castle. The post holder will have the opportunity to feed into this project and help design and deliver brand-new, purpose-built facilities that will help support and help shape the future of education in communications.

About you
The ideal candidate for the 3D Workshop Specialist Technician position should have a strong background in traditional and digital making, specifically in additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques. They should be passionate about supporting student learning and have a desire to contribute to their creative and technical development. Key skills include technical expertise in 3D printing, Laser Cutting, CNC, Woodworking, and related areas. Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills are important, as well as experience in teaching and training. The candidate should possess strong organizational and time management skills, be knowledgeable about health and safety regulations and have a commitment to continuous learning.
By bringing your technical expertise, passion for teaching and learning, and collaborative mindset to the role, you will contribute to creating a supportive and enriching environment for students in the 3D Workshops at UAL.
