The opportunity

The Events Officer works closely with the Events Manager and Head of Events to deliver a creative and engaging programme of key events for Development and the wider University that expand our networks and reflect UAL’s position as one of the world’s leading art and design Universities. Recently this has included the President’s Reception, Scholars’ Celebration, museum private tours, Meet The Artist discussions, donor tours and stakeholder dinners.

The Events Officer provides the administrative and operational underpinning of the events programme, developing and implementing key administrative processes for the team and acting as an advocate for best practice across UAL. With support from the Events Manager, they will be responsible for the delivery of their own portfolio of engagements, such as donor receptions, bespoke tours and panel discussions, as well as providing support for larger activities as needed, for example around Graduation and showcasing.

This is an important role for a creative individual with excellent attention to detail, who will play a key part in ensuring an exceptional experience for all stakeholders and the efficient delivery of UAL events.

About you

Your profile will include:

  • A demonstrable understanding of/interest in the creative arts and creative industries
  • Experience of using databases for event-related data management (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and/or Salesforce is desirable)
  • Experience of event coordination and administration, including managing guest lists, RSVPs and working with a database
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, working both independently and with a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with some irregular hours for events.
