The opportunity

Are you passionate about Theatre Design and eager to share your expertise with aspiring designers? Join Wimbledon College of Arts as a Lecturer in Theatre Design and play a vital part in managing, planning, and delivering specialist teaching within the BA Theatre Design course.

Collaborating with the Course Leader and Programme Director, you’ll ensure high-quality course delivery and maintain effective communication with staff and students. Your inclusive teaching approach, assessment feedback, and guidance will encourage student learning and development. You’ll also stay up to date with industry trends and contribute to academic developments. Your contributions will shape the future of Theatre Design education and the next generation of theatre designers.

About you

We’re seeking a highly qualified individual with an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Theatre Design or a related subject. Your expertise should be demonstrated through professional practice, particularly in digital drafting and related software platforms. A teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one is essential.

Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse audience are crucial for promoting inclusivity. Leadership and management abilities are required to effectively motivate and lead a team. You should have experience in curriculum planning, assessment, and administration, with a solid understanding of Theatre Design education. Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level, resource management skills, and a track record of advancing professional practice/research are highly valued.
