The opportunity

Join our team as a Lecturer in Digital, Production Arts for Screen at Wimbledon College of Arts and inspire the next generation of professionals in the field. We are particularly keen to receive applications from practitioners who have 3D modelling skills in the areas of environment, character, anatomical sculpting, rendering, motion capture, asset building and the associated relevant software.

As a Lecturer, you’ll be responsible for managing, planning, and developing the delivery and assessment of your specialist teaching within the BA Production Arts for Screen course and across the programme. You’ll coordinate the administration of specified Units within the course and work closely with the Course Leader and Programme Director to provide a timely and high-quality service for undergraduate courses. Monitoring and developing the subject delivery to maintain appropriateness and effectiveness will be an important aspect of your role.

About you

To excel in this role, you should have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of Digital Production Arts, along with a postgraduate degree or equivalent demonstrated through practice. A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to undertake teacher training is essential. You should possess a strong knowledge of current discourses within Production Arts, VFX, and converging media practices. Understanding the integration of visual effects within a cinematic production pipeline and digital real-time environments like Unreal Engine is crucial. Proficiency in digital software for asset creation, particularly expert-level skills in Blender and Unreal Engine, is required. Familiarity with Maya and Photoshop is desirable.

Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level, assessment, providing feedback, monitoring student progress, and effective course administration is highly valued. Experience in curriculum management and planning, as well as organising academic conferences and symposia, is desirable.
