The opportunity
We’re seeking a Subject Leader for the MA Puppetry course at Wimbledon College of Arts. MA Puppetry sits within a wider portfolio of making, design and performance courses and is aligned with Wimbledon’s expansion into screen, visual effects (VFX) and other augmented reality design. It is an exciting time to be joining the College.
As a Subject Leader, you’ll articulate and communicate the programme’s academic vision, contribute to its mission, and lead its development and enhancement. Key responsibilities include curriculum design, implementing effective teaching and assessment methods, providing guidance to students, maintaining records, and managing staff. You’ll collaborate with colleagues, contribute to the development of the Theatre at Wimbledon, establish relationships with relevant communities, engage in research or professional practice, and adhere to University policies.
About you
The ideal candidate should possess a degree in a puppetry related area, teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, strong communication and leadership skills, and a record of contribution to professional practice or research. They should also demonstrate knowledge of puppetry practices and theories, familiarity with educational pedagogies in the field, and effective problem-solving abilities.
