The opportunity

The Lecturer in Illustration is responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on the BA Illustration Course. This course is part of the Illustration Programme and Design School at CCW. The post-holder will work collaboratively within a course team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

The post-holder will be expected to undertake:

  • The post holder will work with the Course Leader, focussing on recruitment, student journey, and the transition from FAD to Year 1.
  • The post-holder will have an established illustration practice, with current experience of the commercial illustration industry, as they will be expected to input this knowledge into the curriculum and project delivery.
  • Responsibility for a year group of undergraduate students’ pastoral support, progress and attendance, maintaining records and liaising with colleagues as appropriate.
  • Pedagogic and curriculum development that stimulate thought and practice that challenge the canon of Illustration Programme with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusivity.

      About you

      You will possess an Undergraduate degree in Illustration or an associated subject and hold experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment.

      You will be able to plan, prioritise and manage resources and time effectively to achieve objectives, working in an organised manner, effectively both within team and across different professional groups.
