The opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic, industry-orientated and technically competent academic practitioner to join the Fashion Communication Programme as Lecturer: Fashion Public Relations and Communication.

You will teach at undergraduate level and be responsible for unit leadership, curriculum development and quality assurance, as well as providing pastoral care. You will actively engage in research and/or be present in industry, keeping abreast of advances in communication and teaching delivery of the use of new and emerging technologies, social media platforms, and stakeholder management. 
 
Additionally, you will have a wide range of industry contacts or actively seek out industry/partners that can contribute to units and projects within the Fashion Public Relations and Communication course and more broadly the Fashion Communication programme. 

About you

  • Interest and experience in the fashion industry and the field of communication is essential. 
  • Experience in higher education is desirable
  • Experience in developing communication strategies and tactical implementation 
  • A keen interest and understanding of current trends and innovation and its impact upon fashion communication
  • Critical understanding and working knowledge of the use of various omni channels and technologies in nurturing brand communities 
  • Ability to prepare students with an understanding of the urgent challenges facing society at large and influence their ability to produce meaningful outcomes. 
  • Ability to build working relationships both internally and externally with industry specialist and partners to support student outcomes and curriculum development.
