The opportunity

As a Grade 3 Technician you will provide technical support to groups and individuals for taught programs. You will be responsible for supporting the Specialist Technician in the day-to-day operation of resources linked to the delivery of Inkjet, Thermal wax, Laser, UV, Solvent and Risograph printing, Vinyl print and cut and finishing and binding for publications. With a working knowledge of computer software and carbon literacy relevant to use (ensuring staff and students work in an environment that is both productive and safe) and for supporting the maintenance of equipment.

You will not only bring key skills with you, but will have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience across a wide range of technical workshops in an evolving area. This post is largely a flexible role and you will work to a structured roster over the course of the year.

About you

You should have a BA in a relevant Art and Design subject, (or a professional equivalent) or relevant experience, gained through working in industry/practice and or education. You must be able to demonstrate and pass on technical skills to a wide range of students, have a knowledge of Digital Printing on a variety of substrates and finishing and binding for publications. With a working knowledge of sustainable materials and digital editing, and an awareness and appreciation of the need for high levels of customer care, and professional experience in the discipline or with open-access approaches to workshop lab learning environments.
