The opportunity
If you have a strong background in fine art/painting, this is an exciting opportunity to provide specialist technical knowledge, support and guidance to students in the Painting Programme at Camberwell College of Arts, as Studio Manager.
As the Studio Manager, you will oversee the safe operation and appropriate resource management of the Painting studios, including supervision of reporting technical staff and any temporary studio assistants or alumni fellows.
You will also provide specialist technical knowledge and support in the creation, operation, and utilisation of Painting and related practices, methods and materials, facilitating students’ development as technically aware fine art practitioners, whilst respecting their primary identity as artists/ creators/ makers.
About you
Qualified to BA level in Art, Design or Performance or with equivalent industry level qualifications or certification, you will have strong proven experience in fine art/painting and related making technologies, alongside excellent working knowledge of Studio Culture and contemporary fine art practices including digital developments.
Demonstrable practical knowledge of H&S, COSHH, Risk Assessment and safe working practices are also essential.
