The opportunity

Emerging technologies are transforming the ways in which fashion and visual culture are created, experienced and communicated. London College of Fashion (LCF), part of University of the Arts London, is seeking a Lecturer in Creative Technology and Visual Culture to contribute to innovative teaching and learning across undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the School of Media and Communication.

You'll bring together creative practice, emerging technologies and critical perspectives, supporting students to explore tools such as Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner and generative AI. Through your teaching, you will encourage iterative experimentation, critical enquiry and an understanding of the wider cultural implications of technology in shaping contemporary fashion and visual culture.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Communication Programme, you'll contribute to curriculum development and introduce new approaches that respond to evolving creative practices and technological developments. It's an opportunity to apply your expertise within an interdisciplinary teaching environment to help equip the next generation of creative practitioners with the skills and critical awareness to navigate and shape the future of the fashion industry.

Your profile

You'll have a background in creative technology, media, communications or a related field, with a strong understanding of contemporary creative practice and an interest in the relationship between technology, fashion and culture.

You'll bring experience of teaching and assessment in higher education, or equivalent experience, alongside a working knowledge of contemporary creative technologies. You'll be confident sharing your expertise, encouraging creative experimentation and helping students engage critically with new tools and ideas.

Whether your experience comes from professional practice, research or teaching, you'll bring curiosity, fresh perspectives and a collaborative approach to developing engaging learning experiences. A relevant postgraduate qualification, teaching qualification or Advance HE Fellowship would be desirable.
