The opportunity

Digital & Technology at UAL is on an exciting journey, transitioning from a ‘classic’ IT approach to a user-centred product approach to technology. We are investing in our people, and the processes enabled by digital, to evolve and transform the student and staff experience at UAL.
As Senior Delivery Manager, you will provide strategic delivery leadership for a large and growing digital group supporting People & Culture, Finance & Legal, Estates, Accommodation, Catering and Retail operations. Working as part of the management team, you will oversee delivery across four multidisciplinary squads and their TechOps partners, ensuring priorities are realistic, coordinated and aligned with the wider product roadmap.
You will lead resource, capacity and portfolio planning across a complex and fast-moving environment, creating a clear view of priorities, sequencing, risks and dependencies. Working closely with Product, Business Analysis, Architecture, TechOps and business service leaders, you will provide honest delivery assurance, constructively challenge plans and help the group make informed decisions about where to focus its people and investment.
This is a highly visible, outward-looking role requiring you to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across UAL. You will proactively develop networks, find the information needed to move delivery forward and bring the right people together to resolve issues. You will also oversee budgets, suppliers and contracts, ensuring services provide value and remain aligned with strategic priorities.
You will lead and develop the group’s Delivery Managers, improving consistency and strengthening delivery practices while maintaining a strategic view. With strong product knowledge and an understanding of technology delivery, you will bring credibility, clarity and a continuous improvement mindset to a collaborative, matrix environment.
