The opportunity

London College of Communication (LCC) is preparing for one of the most significant changes in its recent history as we move into our new building at New Kent Road. This relocation will also give us the opportunity to rethink how exhibitions, showcases and public events are delivered for thousands of students, staff and visitors each year.

We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the mobilisation of our future Events and Exhibitions model. You'll help design and implement the frameworks, processes, governance and operational plans that will support the new programme of exhibitions, student showcases and public-facing events in our new home.

Working with key teams across Events and Exhibitions, academic schools, Technical Resources, Estates, Health and Safety, Security, Placemaking and Professional Services teams, you'll bring together diverse stakeholders to ensure everything is in place for a successful launch and sustainable operation.

This role would suit someone who enjoys turning ambitious ideas into practical delivery plans. You may have built your career delivering student exhibitions, degree shows, gallery programmes or large-scale public events within higher education, or have experience across museums, galleries, cultural organisations or visitor attractions. You'll understand the complexities of balancing academic requirements, stakeholder expectations, operational delivery and visitor experience, and will thrive on creating structure, navigating complexity and bringing diverse teams together around a shared goal.

You'll have the opportunity to develop everything from exhibition operations and gallery management to visitor journeys, governance arrangements, resource planning and operational readiness. By the time the doors open, a significant part of the visitor and student experience has been shaped by your work.

Your profile

You are an experienced project manager who can confidently lead complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and fixed deadlines. You may have a background in higher education, arts, cultural, events, exhibitions, museum, gallery or creative sector background and understand how public-facing environments operate. You'll be comfortable balancing strategic planning with operational detail and enjoy working collaboratively across organisational boundaries.

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience managing complex projects from planning through to implementation.
  • Knowledge of exhibitions, events, gallery operations, visitor experience or public-facing programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience developing governance processes, operational plans, risk management approaches and delivery frameworks.
  • The ability to translate strategic objectives into practical, deliverable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, adapting your approach for a wide range of audiences.
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused approach to complex challenges.

Experience of building mobilisation, relocations, capital projects or operational readiness planning would be advantageous.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Senior Resourcing Adviser, lcc.staffrecruit@arts.ac.uk
