London College of Communication (LCC) Library is looking for a full-time Assistant Academic Support Librarian to join our friendly team on a permanent basis. As the College prepares to move into its new home in 2027 under the leadership of Provost Dr Sam Mejias, this is an excellent opportunity to join LCC at an important stage in its development. As part of University of the Arts London, you will join a university renowned for creativity, innovation and specialist arts education, while helping to shape library services that support LCC students, staff and creative community.
As a member of the UAL Library Services team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality, student-focused library services that support the academic activities of the University. Working within the LCC Collections team, you will play an active role in developing, managing and promoting access to LCC's distinctive library and special collections, including collections relating to artists' publishing, zines, comics, alternative press and printing history. You will support specified courses and programmes of study, building strong relationships with course teams and fostering the effective use of resources, collections and services through academic liaison activities. You will also contribute to the delivery of frontline library services.
You will develop learning materials and deliver teaching and learning activities that support information literacy and encourage effective use of library resources, collections and services. You will provide support and guidance to users through our enquiry services, including ASK, our live chat service, and assist students and staff in making use of the library catalogue, electronic resources and collections.
Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a requirement to work at least one evening per week until 6:15 pm. Remote work opportunities may be available, depending on operational needs.
