The opportunity
As Programme Administration Manager, you will line manage a programme administrator supporting a portfolio of courses at University of the Arts London. Day to day, this means managing student records, including withdrawals, transfers, exchanges and placements, and keeping accurate data for reporting and statistics. You will coordinate assessment submission and results processing, prepare documentation for exam boards and sub-boards, and communicate outcomes to students in line with UAL procedures. The role also covers monitoring student attendance, overseeing the student feedback process, and producing course handbooks on time each year.
Beyond administration, this is a team management role. You will support your administrator, carry out performance reviews, and identify training needs. You will service and clerk formal committees such as Programme Committees and, support Programme Directors and Course Leaders with quality reviews and course validation and liaise with services like Disability Support and Registry. Working on a hybrid basis across our Camberwell and Holborn sites, this is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering parental leave, with the busiest periods falling around enrolment, exam boards and quality review points in the academic year.
Your profile
We're looking for someone with a good working knowledge of academic administration processes, gained in a university or similarly regulated setting. You should be able to communicate clearly with different audiences, plan and prioritise your own workload as well as your team's, and manage competing deadlines without losing accuracy. Experience supervising or managing staff is important, as is a practical approach to solving day-to-day problems.
