We’re seeking an experienced Specialist Technician (L&T) Creative Technologies and Production to join the Technical Team at Wimbledon College of Arts (WCA). This role will support innovative teaching, learning and creative production across a range of disciplines, helping students develop the technical, creative and professional skills needed for contemporary creative industries.

Working collaboratively with academic and technical colleagues, you’ll provide specialist expertise, training and guidance across digital production practices, supporting students from concept development through to the realisation of ambitious creative projects. You’ll contribute to an inclusive learning environment where storytelling, performance, design and emerging technologies intersect.

The role supports teaching across a range of programmes, including Diploma Storytelling, BA and MA Costume, BA Acting and Performance, and BA Technical Arts for Film and Theatre. You’ll work across specialist facilities including photography studios, sound recording spaces, digital editing suites and performance settings, helping students engage with industry-standard and emerging creative technologies.

As part of the Technical Team, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and development of specialist digital production facilities and equipment. You’ll deliver technical demonstrations, workshops and one-to-one support across digital workflows including photography, cinematography, sound recording, editing, animation, projection, and experimental media practices.

Your profile

You’ll be an experienced technical practitioner with substantial knowledge of digital production, moving image, photography, sound and creative technologies. A degree in film production, digital media, photography, sound, animation, media arts or a related discipline, and/or significant professional experience, is essential.

You’ll have advanced knowledge of industry-standard software and production workflows, including Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve and audio production platforms such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live or Pro Tools. Experience supporting photography, cinematography, editing, media installation and digital storytelling projects is essential, while knowledge of emerging technologies such as Unreal Engine, S Media, projection mapping or virtual production would be advantageous.

You’ll be confident delivering technical instruction and training to students with varying levels of experience, communicating complex technical concepts in an accessible manner. Strong organisational skills, technical problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resource management are essential.
