The opportunity

Are you passionate about driving positive change in education and shaping student experience in a meaningful way? University of the Arts London is seeking an Education Policy and Engagement Manager to play a central role in delivering our commitment to student success, inclusive learning and an outstanding student experience.

In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination, development and evaluation of educational policies, frameworks and interventions across the University. Working closely with the Head of Educational Policy and Inclusion, you will support the implementation of UAL’s Access and Participation Plan, ensuring that our ambitions for widening access and student success are translated into meaningful, measurable actions. You will collaborate with colleagues leading on our education evaluation framework to ensure that policy development is firmly grounded in evidence and aligned with institutional priorities.

You will also play a vital role in ensuring that new and evolving policy areas are effectively embedded across the organisation. This includes overseeing the communication of policy developments so that staff across the University are informed, engaged and equipped to implement change in practice. A key part of your work will be closing the feedback loop between policy creation and implementation, ensuring that insight from across the institution actively shapes ongoing development.

Alongside this strategic work, you will take on line management responsibilities for the Student Outcomes and Experience Coordinator, providing clear direction, structured support and opportunities for reflection, development and growth.

Your profile

We are looking for someone educated to degree level or equivalent, with a strong understanding of how educational policy can be applied to improve student equity, outcomes and experience.

You will bring knowledge of the Office for Students conditions of registration, particularly around Access and Participation Plans and the Teaching Excellence Framework, alongside a deep understanding of the barriers faced by underrepresented students in accessing, progressing through and succeeding in higher education.

You will have experience of policy review and development within complex environments, and the ability to work across diverse professional groups with confidence, clarity and purpose.
