The opportunity


2 roles available:

Role 1 is part time for 10.5 hours per week, fixed term until 30 April 2027 and is hybrid based at LCC, Elephant and Castle + remote

Role 2 is part time for 17.5 hours per week, fixed term until 31st July 2027 and is hybrid based at Chelsea College of Arts, Millbank + remote.

The Centre & Institute Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the delivery of projects and activities delivered by one or multiple UAL Research Centres and Institutes, as well as projects related to other research driven activities. 
This will involve carrying out and overseeing day-to-day operations and processes necessary to support research centre, institute, and research project activities, including planning and deadlines, budget tracking, project communications and stakeholder relationships.

 

You will work independently as well as collaboratively with others, providing a professional, high quality, partner-facing service, supporting and advising the Project Manager, UAL Centre and Institute Operations staff, and other research-facing staff to ensure projects are delivered in line with expectations. 


Research support operations will vary in scale, scope, and deliverables, which will offer a diverse portfolio of work. Projects may include supporting specific research projects for a given Centre, Institute or Researcher/s, from proposal development to delivery; projects delivering events or engagement programmes; and functional/operational projects such as reviewing or developing research related business processes and outlining options for improvement or enhancement – e.g. data management, webpages, comms activities. 

 

Your profile

Knowledge and understanding of project management principles

Experience of coordinating projects (including financial/budget coordination and administration), including producing formal documentation and reports

Experience of successfully working across different departments, teams and cultures to co-ordinate complex projects

Experience of organising events/workshops/ conferences

Good knowledge of Higher Education Research environment (desirable)

Communicates effectively orally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way

Motivates and leads a team effectively, setting clear objectives to manage performance 

Plans, prioritises and organises work to achieve objectives on time

Works collaboratively in a team or with different professional groups, ensuring the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion are upheld

Builds and maintains positive relationships with students or customers

Uses initiative or creativity to resolve day-to-day problems
