The opportunity

We are looking for a specialist and experienced academic to lead the new, fully online MA Graphic Design course. The role involves leadership of the final stages of course development, delivery of teaching, and supporting the growth of the course and academic team as this exciting new course scales and becomes established.

This course is developed and delivered in partnership between London College of Communication, Graphic Design Communication Programme and UAL Online and is being created in a new flexible model of creative education. Learning is designed to support a global audience of fully online, part time, postgraduate graphic design students. Launched in September 2025, the course is growing quickly, and is one of a suite of new UAL courses designed in this fully online model.

Your role will be varied, including teaching and assessment, supporting students and leading the academic team. You will work collaboratively with UAL Online colleagues supporting course design, recruitment and evaluation in this innovative model of creative education.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with specialist academic and leadership experience in graphic design with a commitment to widening access and inclusive education. As an educator you will be ready to support a globally dispersed cohort to develop their graphic design practices, to bring ethical, diverse and contemporary perspectives into the course.

You’ll have the teamworking and communication skills to support the staff team and embrace our collaborative hybrid working methods. As course leader you will be ready to address emergent and complex challenges that are inherent in this type of new, and innovative HE initiative. You will enjoy collaborative problem solving, and partnership working to support this strategic work.

You don’t need extensive experience of online teaching and learning, but you do need to be open to the advantages of flexible fully online delivery to widen access to Higher Education.

Should you have any questions about the role please contact either:

Henrietta Ross, Programme Director Graphic Design Communication h.ross@lcc.arts.ac.uk

Georgia Steele, UAL Online, Head of Education Design and Development g.steele@csm.arts.ac.uk

If you require reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Senior Resourcing Adviser -  lcc.staffrecruit@arts.ac.uk
