The opportunity

London College of Communication is seeking an experienced academic to join our Academic Support team, delivering inclusive teaching, scholarship and support to students.

Our aim in Academic Support is to enable students to fulfil their potential as confident, independent learners. You will be a core member of the Academic Support team at LCC, liaising with colleagues in programme and course teams and other college and university services. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality support tailored to the needs of individuals and groups in a range of blended learning environments across courses, especially those within the Design school and Media school.

You will use inclusive practices to support students that recognise the diversity of the student population at LCC and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the subject disciplines taught throughout the college where you will also engage with students from the Screen school. You will be confident in addressing a range of students' study requirements, including understanding academic vocabulary, reflective practices, unpacking assignment briefs, critical approaches to reading and writing, research skills, planning and time management, speaking and presentation skills, working collaboratively, and evidencing learning outcomes.

You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge, expertise, and experience in academic support and learning development, and be willing to contribute to scholarly activity, research, and developing professional practice in this area.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who understands the unique challenges and opportunities of teaching in a design, media and screen school context. You will be a graduate who has experience of teaching in further and/or higher education settings.

Your experience will include evidence of inclusive pedagogic practice and blended learning. You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be committed to working in a team.

If you have any queries about this role or need any reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Lesley Wilkins, Senior Resourcing Adviser, lcc.staffrecruit@arts.ac.uk
