In this role you will support the effective planning, coordination and delivery of furniture, fixtures and equipment across University of the Arts London’s accommodation, catering and retail portfolio, ensuring that equipment and fittings support compliance, safe operation, accessibility, maintainability, value for money, and a positive student experience.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining lists (asset registers) of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment in student accommodation, catering and retail spaces
- Making sure records are accurate and up to date
- Helping plan and coordinate furniture and equipment for room upgrades, refurbishments, or new spaces
- Ensuring the right items are ordered, delivered and installed on time
- Communicating with furniture suppliers, installers and contractors
- Coordinating deliveries, installations and any follow-up work if there are defects
- Tracking when furniture or equipment needs repair, replacement or upgrading
- Helping plan future replacements so spaces stay functional and safe
- Working with accommodation, catering, retail and maintenance teams to understand what they need and when work should happen
- Maintaining project files, drawings, schedules and specifications in systems like SharePoint
Your profile
To be considered for this role, you will be a highly organised and proactive professional with experience of coordinating furniture, fixtures and equipment or similar elements within interiors, accommodation, retail, hospitality, or other high-use environments.
You will have strong project coordination and communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers and contractors while managing multiple tasks and maintaining accurate asset and project records. You should be comfortable using digital tools to support the coordination of furniture, fixtures and equipment, such as drawing mark-ups, schedules or visualisation software including Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, SketchUp or Rhino.
A relevant qualification in interior design, the built environment, or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent professional experience would also be appropriate.
You will also demonstrate good attention to detail, practical problem-solving abilities, and an understanding of how well-planned furniture, materials and layouts contribute to functional, durable and accessible spaces.
