The opportunity
This post is based in UAL Awarding Body, part of the University of the Arts London. We design, develop and award creative arts qualifications that empower and inspire educators to help students reach their potential. UAL Awarding Body is regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA Regulation at Levels Entry Level 3 to 5 of the national qualification framework. We work with approved centres to offer qualifications in Art and Design, Fashion Business and Retail, Creative Media Production and Technology, Music Performance and Production and Performing and Production Arts, and Project qualifications. UAL Awarding Body has a pipeline of new qualifications in development for 14-19-and 19+ year-olds, and a qualification development and review cycle that needs to be undertaken to meet regulatory requirements and exploit commercial opportunities.
UAL Awarding Body is seeking a skilled Senior Qualifications Development Officer to lead the design and development of innovative qualifications for 14-19 and 19 + learners. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of creative education at a world leading arts university, ensuring every qualification meets the highest standards of quality.
As Senior Qualifications Development Officer, you will be responsible for managing and undertaking qualification development activities, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard. This includes paying close attention to technical content, regulatory compliance and the overall quality of our qualifications.
Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you will gather and interpret evidence that supports qualification design and development activities. Additionally, you will review existing qualifications and resources, making recommendations for amendments or withdrawal where necessary. You will also help define, develop and implement new qualification specifications, policies and procedures, playing a key role in ensuring ongoing qualification compliance with Regulators’ Conditions of Recognition.
Your profile
We are looking for an individual who is capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritising their own workload effectively. You will have experience in qualification and assessment design, with a solid understanding of the full development and design cycle.
Excellent project management skills are essential, including experience of leading concurrent projects, pairing this with a thorough understanding of the further/higher education sectors and the creative industries. Strong organisational, planning and communication skills are also required, along with the ability to convey complex information clearly and inclusively to a diverse audience.
