The opportunity
Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Arts (CCW) deliver a diverse range of activities that engage local communities through teaching, research, and public programmes. To build on this work and to ensure the full impact of these projects is realised, we are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Manager to lead a portfolio of initiatives across CCW, fostering meaningful connections between local communities, research and creative education.
As a key member of our Public Engagement team, you will manage the CCW community engagement programme, helping to develop and deliver collaborative projects that benefit the University while aligning external stakeholder needs with the creative skills and knowledge of staff and students. You will be responsible for capturing and communicating the value and impact of these activities to internal and external audiences as part of our broader programme of public engagement.
The role involves mentoring and providing training to research students and academic staff in best practice for inclusive community engagement. You will also contribute to communications on community engagement projects, manage project budgets effectively and identify external funding opportunities, taking the lead on bid development and submission.
Your profile
We are looking for an individual who has experience in designing, developing and delivering community engagement in the arts, preferably within a higher education context. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to convey information in a compelling and influential way, adapting style and message to diverse audiences in an inclusive and accessible manner. Strong management and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage the delivery of complex projects or activities to achieve long term strategic objectives.
We are offering an informal pre-application Q&A/information session on MS Teams on 23 January at 13:00 to interested candidates for this role.
Please email Christine Crouch at jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk for the meeting link by no later than 11:00 on the day.
Should you have any questions about the application process or require reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact Christine Crouch at jobs.ccw@arts.ac.uk.
