The opportunity
The Events Manager works closely with the Head of Strategic Events to deliver a creative and engaging programme of key events for the University that expand our networks and reflect UAL’s position as one of the world’s leading art and design Universities. Recently this has included the Scholars’ Celebration, Meet the Artist discussions, Degree show events and the Staff Summer Party.
More broadly, the Event Manager will be an advocate for best practice in event management at UAL, advising colleagues across the university as required. Additionally the team is responsible for the project management of UAL’s Graduation ceremonies, in which the Event Manager will play a pivotal role.
This is an important role for a creative individual with excellent attention to detail, who will ensure an exceptional experience for all stakeholders and the efficient delivery of UAL
events.
Your profile
▪Significant experience delivering a variety of different event formats, from receptions and discussions to tours and lunches, with minimal supervision.
▪Experience of working in a fundraising environment, with an understanding of the unique requirements of cultivating and stewarding donors.
▪Demonstrable understanding of interest in the creative arts and creative industries for the purposes of delivering an engaging event programme and building guest lists.
▪Experience of using databases for event-related data management (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is desirable).
▪Experience of designing and delivering new events to deliver set objectives.
▪Communicates effectively orally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.
▪Motivates and leads a team effectively, setting clear objectives to manage performance.
▪Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve long term objectives.
