The opportunity

The School of Media and Communication at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London is looking for a 6 months fixed term contract (with possible extension for another 6 months) Creative Director to implement the School of Media and Communication showcasing strategy. The post involves initiating and project managing external events and exhibitions and extending the school’s place making and social engagement agendas, developing priority partnerships and maximising engagement and impact from showcasing activities.  

The post holder will work closely with the LCF Cultural Programme team to embed the work of the school into LCF’s public programme. Working across LCFs showcasing spaces, LCF’s world-class gallery, and across digital platforms to showcase student, staff and alumni work, research, knowledge exchange and graduate degree shows. Showcasing will take place throughout our state of the art single-site building, and the Creative Directors of each school are critical to realising our showcasing strategy and programming in our new site on the East Bank.

Your profile

You will be recognised as an authority in your field or specialism, be an excellent and proactive communicator, demonstrating ability to collaborate and work with staff, students, alumni and partners. You will have extensive knowledge of the changing face of the fashion media and communication industry.  A strong fashion and/ or creative vision as relevant to the School of Media and Communication is essential, as well as the ability to conceptualise, plan and produce complex creative showcasing outcomes.   

You will have experience in project management and production planning and managing budgets, workflow for digital platforms as well as other modes of showcasing and dissemination. It is desirable for you to have experience and knowledge of working within the higher education sector, however we are open to applicants from other backgrounds including curatorial, editorial and creative direction, creative strategy, education roles, development and programming departments in galleries and museums, commercial and creative brand thought leadership and futurology.
