The opportunity
Join University of the Arts London (UAL) and play a vital role in shaping innovative, customer-focused library services within one of the world’s leading creative universities.
As a Systems Support Librarian, you will contribute to the development, maintenance and optimisation of the Library Management System (LMS) and associated technologies, ensuring they operate effectively and are fully integrated across our digital library infrastructure. Working closely with IT Services and colleagues across the University, you will help drive digital transformation and enhance the overall user experience for both students and staff.
You will also manage a small team, providing direction, support and professional development opportunities, while contributing to departmental reporting and data analysis to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
Your profile
You are an experienced library systems professional with a Level 6 or equivalent qualification, and with strong expertise in Library Management Systems, systems integration, and supplier management. You have experience supervising or managing staff, leading with clarity and empathy to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to explain complex technical matters clearly and concisely to different audiences. You will be comfortable preparing reports, giving presentations and representing Library Services in functional groups, external networks and open software communities.
Your digital expertise will include experience with scripting and programming, such as SQL and jQuery, together with the ability to manage and troubleshoot RFID infrastructure.
