The opportunity
We are delighted to offer 10 new Student Learning and Engagement Officer roles across our four renowned Colleges - Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon (CCW), Central Saint Martins (CSM), London College of Communication (LCC) and London College of Fashion (LCF).
At University of the Arts London (UAL), we believe that every student deserves the opportunity to thrive. As a Student Learning and Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that students receive the right support at the right time. Working within College Education Teams, you will provide one-to-one guidance, deliver targeted interventions and connect students with the specialist services they need to succeed.
Your work will make a real difference to student experience, helping to create inclusive, compassionate and engaging learning environments. You will collaborate closely with course leaders, student services, academic support and the Arts Students’ Union to champion student wellbeing, retention and success.
UAL is a world-leading creative university that values diversity, inclusion and innovation. This is your chance to join a supportive and forward-thinking community that empowers staff to bring their whole selves to work and contribute to our shared social purpose and climate action goals.
If you are passionate about helping students reach their full potential and want to make an impact across a vibrant creative community, we would love to hear from you.
As part of your application during the pre-screening form, you will be asked to select between 1 to 4 Colleges you would like to be considered for.
Your profile
You will bring a strong understanding of the higher education environment and the student journey, ideally supported by a degree or equivalent professional experience. You will have experience working in a pastoral, wellbeing or engagement capacity, supporting students through individual and group interventions.
You will be skilled in building trusted relationships with students and colleagues across multiple teams, and demonstrate empathy, cultural awareness and discretion when supporting diverse student communities. Your communication will be clear, inclusive and compassionate across all channels, and you will be comfortable managing sensitive situations with care and professionalism.
The role requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver work independently while collaborating across teams. You will approach challenges with creativity, flexibility and resilience, maintaining focus even in fast-paced or complex situations.
Above all, you will share UAL’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and a belief in the transformative power of education.
