The opportunity

Are you passionate about bringing stories to life and eager to develop your skills as a filmmaker? At UAL, we’re looking for a Junior Videographer to join our new, dynamic team. You’ll support in capturing and editing content that showcases the creativity of one of the world’s leading universities for art and design, while developing your technical expertise in a collaborative environment.


As part of a small, in-house team working across all UAL Colleges and institutes, you’ll play a key role in the production of visually stunning, award-worthy content. From pre-production to the final edit, your technical expertise in camera operating, lighting and sound recording will support the wider team as we craft films that resonate with diverse audiences.


You’ll be responsible for planning, capturing, and editing video content that aligns with UAL’s brand and messaging. This will include:


  • Having opportunities to work independently on smaller film projects as well as collaborating with colleagues on larger productions.
  • Running shoots with a professional approach to camera operating, directing, lighting, and sound recording.
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained and organised for shoots.
  • Supporting and sometimes leading on post-production, from editing footage and colour grading to sound mixing.
  • Working with the Content Team to develop concepts and treatments that tell powerful stories.

Your profile


  • Filmmaking experience: You’re technically proficient and detail-oriented, with hands-on experience in cameras, lighting, sound recording, and post-production.
  • A natural storyteller: You enjoy thinking about how to communicate ideas visually and can support in the development of compelling narratives. You feel confident adding to film treatments and eager to learn more about shaping visual arcs that connect with our audiences.
  • Creative thinker: You are confident bring fresh ideas and thrive on pushing boundaries to deliver exceptional video content.
  • Collaborative spirit: You enjoy working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to turn creative concepts into reality. You have a high ability in taking direction and supporting team members.
